Call to Action! Preserve Medicaid

On February 25, the House of Representatives narrowly passed a resolution to move ahead with action aimed to curb federal spending by approximately $880B over the next 10 years.

The majority of those “savings” are expected to come from the Medicaid program.

Any effort to change or otherwise reform the Medicaid program must consider the impact of such change upon people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, in order to prevent unintended harmful consequence.

It is more important than ever that we mobilize our grassroots, engage our congressional delegation, and protect the critical supports and services people with intellectual and developmental disabilities rely on.

Tell Congress: Medicaid Is a Lifeline for People With Disabilities!

When people with disabilities get access to health care and other disability services, they can live independent lives.

Medicaid makes this possible.

  • It provides essential health care to millions of children and adults with disabilities, so they can live healthier, fuller lives.

  • Infants with disabilities get a strong start in life through vital developmental support.

  • People with disabilities receive assistance from home care workers for daily tasks, ensuring independence and dignity.

Right now, Congress is making big decisions about our nation’s priorities and how to pay for them.

They are voting on policies that will take away funding from Medicaid health care and services—services that people with disabilities rely on.

If Medicaid is cut, millions of lives will be deeply impacted.

ACT NOW to tell Congress to protect Medicaid!
