Person Supported Wins Statewide Art Competition

Elmira, NY | Watkins Glen, NY – The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Meehan, a woman supported by The Arc, has been selected as the 1st place winner in the photography category for The Arc New York’s 2021 Art Competition for her photo submission titled “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.


On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, Elizabeth will join others for a statewide celebration via Zoom. A surprise celebration for Elizabeth will follow, beginning at 11:00 AM, to be held at the Chemung Family Fitness Center, 425 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira. Media partners are invited to attend for an opportunity to interview Elizabeth.

 

Elizabeth has photography on display at The Shoppes at Oldies But Goodies, located in Big Flats, and at the Franklin Street Gallery in Watkins Glen. The Franklin Street Gallery is owned and operated by The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler, and is one of six other businesses that make up The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler’s Business Services Division. The Franklin Street Gallery provides an inclusive space for artists of all abilities and currently carries a variety of work from over 50 talented artists from the region.
