Community Pre-Vocational Services

The goals of this program are to determine, through community experience, whether an individual wishes to pursue integrated employment; to be able to make reasonable and continued progress toward achievement of an integrated employment outcome, and to engage in activities that will contribute to the individual’s knowledge and experience with the many options for community-based employment. Exposure will contribute to the individual’s informed choice regarding employment. Activities may include job exploration, resume and cover letter assistance, touring at employers, job shadowing, information interviews, job tryouts, volunteering, travel training, computer skills training, guest speakers/peer speakers, employability skills training – listening, interacting with coworkers, and the like.

This service may also be available to persons enrolled with ACCESS-VR or high school students transitioning from school to work.
