This program offers individuals an opportunity to work in an internship with an identified business that will lead to permanent employment, while receiving increased job development and job coaching supports. Participants attend job readiness classes to learn about conflict resolution, interpersonal / social skills, teamwork, and professionalism.

Businesses that hire their intern (excluding non-profits) may be eligible for tax credits and other financial incentives.

• NYS OPWDD pays interns’ initial training wages while they are learning your business expectations.
