Pre-Employment Transition Services (ETS) Services

Take advantage of a FREE opportunity for your child to receive Pre-Employment Transition Services in school, out of school and, or on weekends.

 

Working in collaboration, The Arc Chemung-Schuyler, The Arc Allegany-Steuben, Capabilities, and The Greater Southern Tier BOCES are able to provide the following five “required” activities of Pre-Employment Transition Services at no cost to you:

  • Job exploration counseling;

  • Work-based learning experiences, which may include in-school, after school, or community-based opportunities;

  • Counseling on opportunities for enrollment in comprehensive transition or postsecondary educational programs;

  • Workplace readiness training to develop social skills and independent living; and

  • Instruction in self-advocacy and self-awareness.

 

These services can offer supports to individuals 14-21 years of age:

  • Survey their interests and explore careers that match!

  • Try out real jobs in the community!

  • Visit businesses to see people at work and learn more about available jobs!

  • Understand how to apply for college, apprenticeships, and financial aid!

  • Discover what it takes to become a valuable employee!

  • Develop independent living skills and learn how to advocate for themselves!


If you would like your loved one to receive any of these services

Complete and sign the Referral Form. It is important that you fill out all the blanks on this form and return it to: The Arc of Allegany-Steuben, One Arc Way, Bath, NY 14810.

 

We will work with you to determine which Pre-Employment Transition Services would benefit your loved one; so, this may be only one service or all of them. You may contact (607) 776-4146 ext. 2213 with any questions. 

 

A contract was awarded to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), at no cost to you, to The Arc Chemung-Schuyler, The Arc Allegany-Steuben, Capabilities, and The Greater Southern Tier BOCES. These funds are made available under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
